Missed out on WWDC 2017? We have it all compiled for you!

Yesterday at WWDC 2017, I think it was the biggest for Apple, and its users and developers all across the world. They had an outstanding 5000+ Developers who had attended the Conference from across the Globe. We always knew it was going to be one special year for Apple at WWDC 2017.

One important thing to note is that Apple heavily focussed on Machine Learning and Augmented Reality on this Keynote, which seems that they are progressing towards a high level of technology advancement.

Here are some of the highlights of the Event, the details of specific ones will be covered in future articles.

MacBook Pro & Macbook

Apple has upgraded its line of MacBook Pro and the MacBook which was affected by negative reviews last year and the new versions are better, faster and ship with the Kaby Lake Processors that come with the new iMac. The MacBook Pro starts are $1299.

iMac and the iMac PRO

It has been several years since the iMac and the Mac Pro had been due for an upgrade, and it was just about time that Apple had decided to give their users some treat with the best in class Desktop Specifications. One of them was the upgrade of the iMac 4K and 5K lineups which come with great enhancements for you to look forward to.

The iMac 21.5 inch 4K display has been priced at $1099, the higher 4K model priced at $1299 and the best in class iMac 5K has been priced at $1799.

The Mac Pro had badly wanted an upgrade, especially I had been noticing this on a lot of YouTubers channels, and they decided to merge the iMac with the Mac Pro and make it one single entity where the user would not need to spend separately on accessories however this has come with a heft price tag of $5000 onwards.

All New iPad Pro

Not many of us knew that a new mini iPad was released a couple of months back and the launch was so soft that we did not anything at all. So Apple decided to keep that aside and bring out a supreme model of the iPad Pro which surpasses the older generations in all means. The refresh rate on these iPads has been made to 120Hz which is insane.

They have an all new 10.5 Inch Model for the iPad Pro, that will have a different version of the iOS 11, than what you get on your iPhones. They come with with PC class performance and storage has been doubled which starts of at 64GB and the max model is at 512GB. The pricing is as shown below.

WatchOS 4

Users have been loving WatchOS and the Apple Watch Series 2 with its improved performance. So Apple decided to give a treat to its WatchOS users, and they have focussed this time alot on Exercise and Fitness. The amount of usage on exercise and fitness has been tremendous as per what Apple has presented to us.

They have introduced a new Watch Face called the Siri Face that gives you a glance of all your activities like reminders, calendars, maps etc at a look. They also have a cool feature that can sync your Gym Equipment with the Watch using NFC. You can also send and request money from your contacts through the Watch via Apple Pay. We will discuss about this in the iOS 11 article.

App Store Redesign

The App Store has been in existence for over 9 years now, and it had the same old look for ages and the team at Apple felt that its high time it gets a refresh. So now you can see how the App Store has been redesigned by the experts at UI and UX team at Apple.

The App Store now has the tabs at the bottom grouped by categories like Apps, Games, Updates and the first Tab called Today which curates the best App or Game of the day. You can also check in-purchases for the game before making a purchase which comes along with the pricing etc.

MacOS High Sierra

MacOS Sierra was a benchmark in Apple's Mac software which they released last year. However unlike launching a brand new Mac OS this year , Apple decided to go with the thought of working harder to innovate and perfect the existing MacOS Sierra and they named it as MacOS High Sierra.

There are some cool new features here in terms of usage and performance. Safari has been rated as the best in class Browser on any platform as claimed during WWDC 2017.

iOS 11

I think this was one of the best announcements, because iOS 10 itself was such a cool iOS, and from the stats that we saw iOS 10 has an adoption rate of almost 86%, which is the best so far. Even when iOS 8 and 9 launched they did not have such a high adoption rate.

iOS 11 will feature all new lock screen design which blends in with the Notification Centre, which now has all the options in the same screen and you can peek and pop from the icons there itself.

They have added a new feature in iMessage where in you can send and receive money with users just using Apple Pay. This was a complete gem of an idea. Also when your in messages, just below the message type bar, there is a series of apps that are most commonly used and then recent used apps are added as well.

iOS 11 also comes with support for editing Live Photos where you can trim and reposition the Key Photo Frame in the Live Photo.

Siri has become naturally more helpful and help you with Translations on the go and support for lots of more languages!

They have also introduced AirPlay 2 which supports multi room audio, which means that you can airplay multiple audios in different rooms and control it from your phone. Even your friends can drop in songs without disturbing your playlist.

There is a unique Do Not Disturb Mode that does not let you see or read notifications or attend calls while your driving, which is detected by the inbuilt hardware of the phone. If you message then it auto responds.

HomePod!

This was one of the most awaited announcements of WWDC 2017, because it completely talks about how advanced technologies Apple is working with. I also spoke about this in my previous article on what is rumoured to be launched.

The HomePod is just like how you imagine it to be, as compared to the Google Home and the Amazon Echo, but this particular Home System, focusses on Music, Sound and Entertainment with advanced Neural Network algorithms that direct sound based on space, and curation of songs, etc. It is one of the most highly advanced Home Systems that will be available only in December and will start shipping next year onwards in select countries like US, UK and Australia.
