Asus Zenfone 2 Laser: Pretty old, but is it still good enough?

Overview:
Ok so I had purchased this Asus Zenfone 2 Laser for my mom, after she accidentally lost her Moto E2 in 2015, which i considered a pretty good low end phone. And moreover it was a good replacement for the Moto E2, but yes with a lot of bloatware!

Im not a very big fan of phones that come with a lot of bloatware, because it eventually slows down the performance of the device due to heavy usage of themes, colours, animations, transitions and eventually screws up the UI and battery life as well. Asus is one of those manufacturers that make a lot of budget friendly phones and if your a person who likes a lot of pre-loaded apps and bloatware then you will definitely like this phone. Its not the best of phones but for a normal usage with smaller games are fine to run on this device.

Design:
The design of this phone is not that great. It has a plastic kind of a feel to hold but what I feel is and also you will notice in the pics, it has a lot of scratches coz it has been dropped quite a lot. So if your coming from being a Nokia user who keeps dropping your phone etc then this is a pretty sturdy phone.

The design consists of thin edges on the phone with a smooth plastic back that makes it easy to hold the phone and use. However it is not really a single handed usage phone. Towards the front end of the screen it has a very Zenfone like Radial Metallic design that definitely shines out quite well. Above these designs are the hardware back, home and app switch buttons available. It also has the earpiece on top front side of the screen just above the Asus logo as shown, along with LED Indicator and Front Facing cameras.

At back of the phone is the patent design of Asus with the Volume rockers and the rear facing camera with flash. On top of the phone you can see the power button along with the 3.5mm headphone jack.

Specifications:
Coming to the specification of the phone, it is powered by a Qualcomm Snapdragon 615 Quad Core Chipset clocked at 1.2 Ghz and comes in 2GB and 3GB RAM variants. I got the 2GB RAM variant. It comes with a micro SD card slot upto 128GB of expandable storage.

The phone has dedicated dual MICRO-SIM slots with 4G connectivity available on both the slots, however I haven't tried using 4G on any of the slots yet to see how the performance goes. It comes with a 5.5 Inch Display with HD Resolution and Corning Gorilla Glass 4. Colours are decent. It also has a massive 3,000 mAH battery which would last at-least 2 days with normal usage and 1.5 days with heavy usage. It just weighs 170gms and comes in various colours.

The rear facing camera comes with a 13MP shooter with laser auto focus for good quality images and a front facing 5MP camera with auto focus as well. It comes with Stock android 5.0 and upgradable to Android M as per the latest update a week or so back.

Price and Variants:
It comes in 2 variants one is the 2GB ram variant that is a 5.5 Inch display priced at INR 8,999/- and the other is the 3GB ram variant that is priced at 11,999/-. So if you plan to go with a budget of say 9k to 12k this is a good choice as it offers everything you need in a smartphone. You can take good pics, small and medium games are playable, call quality  is good. Biggest drawback in this are the speakers are not loud enough.
